Janney Lock [BA 2014, BEd 2015] spent her whole life training in the performing arts; her dream was to travel the world and teach dance to young children.
After spending some time at a performing arts school in Miami, Florida, God drastically altered the course of her life. “During my training, the Lord took away my health and showed me that everything I do needs to be focused on Him,” Janney says.
“I want to teach children, and I know God has gifted me to teach.”
She went home to Toronto to recover, not knowing what was next. Janney’s parents heard about Tyndale from members in their church and encouraged her to apply. Now a Tyndale graduate, she can look back and see how God’s faithfulness changed her life.
“Three years ago, I never would have imagined being where I am now,” she says. After completing her Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology, Janney was accepted to Tyndale’s Bachelor of Education (BEd) program.
“I want to teach children, and I know God has gifted me to teach,” she says. “I am hoping to pursue the Primary-Junior Track (Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5) and become a teacher; the Lord has given me a heart for this age group.”
Although God led her down a different path, Janney has come full circle in her journey. She now finds herself in a different setting, fulfilling the same passion for teaching children.
